Keyboard Shortcuts
Marqly's keyboard shortcuts work anywhere in the web app. Press ? at any time to open the shortcut cheat sheet and see the keys that are active for your account and your device.

The single-letter shortcuts (V, M, T, C, R, and the selection actions) only apply while you are on a library page and are not typing in a text field — Marqly never intercepts a letter you are typing into search, a title, a note, or a tag.
Customize your shortcuts
- Open Settings.
- Select the Shortcuts tab, or press ? and choose Customize from the cheat sheet.
- Find the action you want to change and select Change.
- Press the new key combination, then press Enter to save, or Esc to cancel.
- If the combination is already used by another action, Marqly offers Replace — the other action loses that key and this one takes it.
Custom shortcuts sync to your account, so they follow you to another browser or computer once you sign in there. A shortcut that can't be changed (like Esc to clear a selection) shows Can't be changed instead of a Change button.
Select Reset next to an action to put it back to its default, or Reset all shortcuts at the bottom of the tab to clear every customization at once.
Shortcut tips
The first few times you use the mouse for an action that has a shortcut, Marqly shows a small tip naming the key that does the same thing. If you'd rather not see these, turn off Show shortcut tips at the top of Settings → Shortcuts, or select Don't show tips on any tip toast.
Where shortcuts are disabled
Shortcuts do not fire:
- While a dialog, menu, or the cheat sheet itself is open.
- Inside a text field, note, or tag input — except Add Bookmark, Focus search, Toggle search scope, Open Ask, Toggle sidebar, and Open settings, which work everywhere so you never have to click out of what you're typing first.
- In the Marqly mobile apps, which use their own native gestures.
